Happy International Scone Day

On this delightful International Scone Day, let us pause for a moment of refined indulgence. There is scarcely a treat more charming than a warm, golden scone—lightly crisped at the edge, tender within—graced generously with rich clotted cream and a spoonful of fruit preserves, jewel-bright and sweet.

Paired with a proper cup of tea (Earl Grey, if you're asking politely), it is a taste of Victorian elegance, a whisper of parlour-room grace, and the quiet joy of taking tea with kind company and finer things.

So today, lift your china cup, spread the cream before the jam (or vice versa, if you're feeling bold), and savour the simple luxury of a well-made scone.

Do you enjoy scones with your tea? Do you prefer blueberry scones, strawberry scones, rhubarb scones, plain scones or another? Do you care for them drizzled with a glaze or with a dollop of clotted cream and fruit preserves? Do let us know in the comments, please. We always love to read your replies.

Happy International Scone Day,

dear tea time friends!

Happy International Tea Day

 Happy International Tea Day!

Today, we celebrate the rich heritage, cultural significance, and global love for tea—a timeless drink that brings people together across continents. Whether it’s a morning ritual or an afternoon gathering, tea invites us to pause, connect, and savour life’s little moments.

Here’s to good tea and a merry heart!

Tea On The Porch

Today, we are taking no hurried steps. Instead, we sit—beneath the porch eaves, where the scent of lilac wafts through the air and time forgets to chase us. There’s comfort in the rhythm of it all: the delicate pour of Earl Grey into worn porcelain, the way sunlight slips across the wood like a memory.

So stay awhile. Let the hours steep slowly, like the tea in our cups. Here, on this quiet porch, with the breeze threading through the garden and each sip of tea feeling like part of the stillness, part of the hush that lives between hours. The world hums in the background—distant, content to keep its distance.

Lilac blossoms brush against the railing, nodding in slow agreement with the pace of the day. Everything here moves with purpose, but without hurry. Just the sound of the delicate breeze, the warmth of the cup, and the quiet company of blooming things.

Let us enjoy our tea on the porch, dear tea time friends.
